About IEC60320-1

IEC 60320-1 is a standard for appliance couplers for household and similar purposes published by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). It is the general requirements for appliance couplers for 2 poles and 2 poles with earth contact and for the connection of electrical devices for household and similar onto the mains supply. The rated voltage does not exceed 250V and the rated current does not exceed 16A.

The appliance coupler includes connector, appliance inlet, appliance outlet and plug connector. The IEC60320-1 standard provides global uniformity in the design, production and testing of appliance couplers for household and similar purposes, helping manufacturers ensure product safety and reliability.
