It is a sub-standard of IEC 60335-1 (General safety standard for household electrical appliances) and specifically targets equipment such as refrigerating appliances, ice cream machines, and ice makers.
UL 60335-2-24 is formulated by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) in the United States and is mainly applicable to the North American region. Although it also has some influence in other regions, it has the highest recognition in the North American market. UL 60335-2-24 partially adopts some contents of IEC 60335-2-24, but at the same time, it retains some national differences and special requirements in the United States.
