1. Introduction of Plug Torque Tester?

The plug torque tester is a device used to test the torque required when a plug is inserted into a socket. The device applies different torques through a combination of a force arm and a weight to simulate the actual force when the plug is inserted into a socket. The Plug Torque Test Device complies the test requirements of IEC60335-1 and IEC60065 clause 15.4.1 figure 11. A device provided with pins intended to be introduced into fixed socket-outlets shall not impose undue strain on these socket-outlets, the torque shall not exceed 0.25Nm.

2. Basic Principle of Plug Torque Test Apparatus

The basic working principle of the plug torque test apparatus is to apply different torques through the combination of a balance arm and a weight. First of all, the device contains a balance arm and a weight system. Then, users can select the suitable balance arm length and weight according to their needs. Subsequently, they can apply a specific torque by hanging the weight on one end of the balance arm. For example, to apply a torque of 0.25N·m, a 2.5N weight and a 100mm lever arm can be used.

3. Structure of the Pego Plug Torque Test Device

The plug torque test device consists of a test fixture, an adjustable balance arm with 200mm, 4 weights includes 0.25N*1, 0.5N*1, 1.25N*1 and 0.5N*1 mass, and plug clamp. The plug clamp can be customized as per clients plug drawings to suitable for various countries plug.

4. Application

The plug torque test device is suitable for various plug-in devices with plugs. It is used to detect whether the mechanical stress generated by these devices on the socket during normal use is within the specified range.

5. Advantage of the Plug Torque Tester

The advantage of the plug torque tester mainly include the following aspects:

- Ensure product quality and safety: It can be ensured that the device will not exert excessive stress when plugged into the socket, thereby avoiding safety hazards caused by excessive stress.

- Comply with international standards and certification requirements: The plug torque tester complies with a number of international and domestic standards, such as GB/T 2099.1-2021, Article 22.3 of GB4706, Article 15.4.1 and Figure 11 of GB8898-2001, and Figure 11 of IEC60065. These standards ensure the reliability and safety of the equipment and meet various certification requirements.

- Improve equipment durability and reliability: By testing the torque performance of the equipment, it can be ensured that the equipment will not be damaged due to excessive stress during long-term use, thereby improving the durability and reliability of the equipment. This is very important for extending the service life of the equipment and maintaining the normal operation of the equipment.

- ‌Adapt to various socket types‌: The plug torque tester can adapt to various socket types, such as GB, UL, BS plugs, etc. This makes the test more flexible and can meet the standards and requirements of different countries and regions‌
